Holding this smooth bird in your hand one can imagine the feel of freedom in the wind. Alvin Calavaza carved this friend from a beautifully variegated serpentine and inlaid eyes of turquoise. With nicely incised wing and tail feathers this carving is about 2 1/2" long, 1 1/4" wide, and 3/4" tall and would fit nicely in a medium leather pouch.
