Artful Lizard
When asked what drew Zuni artist Nelson Yatsattie to start carving, he said that "It was just another way of drawing. Me and Brian (Brian Yatsattie, brother), We like art; we like to draw, we like to paint. I was always in art class." He said making art "It just takes everything out of your mind, when you get into your work. You put everything into it - you leave all the negativity out, and you put all the positivity in - your whole soul." Nelson's passion for art is evidenced in a quick Lizard sculpted from ricolite. Observant eyes are from turquoise inlays. We love this reptile's long tail flowing tail. About 3 3/4" long, 1 5/8" wide and 7/8" tall.
