Justin Red Elk was only 8 years old when he started carving. His uncle is noted artist Herbert Halate. Among Justin's signature works are playful otters first inspired from ones he'd observed on Animal Planet. Sculpted from joyful alabaster and rich pipestone, this happy water duo measures about 3 1/8" long, 5/8" wide and 7/8" tall. The parent otter's eyes are from jet inlays, while whiskers and claws are sgraffito-etched. Keep them close to encourage you to maintain a lighthearted approach to life.
