Timothy Talawepi's magical Butterfly maiden and katsinas carving is about 13" tall, 8" wide and 5" deep. It's all hand-carved and hand-painted, of cottonwood with gorgeous acrylic paints. The butterfly maidens seem to be engaging in conversation with one another, as they harvest the pollen and nectar. Their wings are painted in a beautiful way. The hand element, that's cradling a pottery jar that holds a yellow flower, has a carved cuff that shows Longhair and Rain Dancer katsinas all around it.
