The A:Shiwi (Zuni) believe Dragonflies carry prayers. These ancient creatures are traditionally recognized as a sign of water. Smokey Gchachu's gorgeous sterling silver and cheerful orange spiny oyster shell dragonfly pin/pendant necklace captivates in meaning, versatile design and happy color. We love the shaping of the individual shell pieces that represent a segmented abdomen and wings held by handmade bezels. Eyes and tail tip are from turquoise inlays. Dimensions of the removable dragonfly pin/pendant are about 2 5/8" long, 2" wide and 1/4" deep including the pin's station. The lovely bale is removable as well.
