Dino-Mite Brontosaur

Zuni artist Brandon Phillips started sculpting dinosaurs when he was 13 years old. Some of the ancient reptiles in his carving repertoire include brontosaurus, stegosaurus and triceratops. Many Indigenous cultures view dinosaur bones as sacred burials of animals who should be shown the same respect as human ancestors. They are the first fossil finders with a knowledge of deep time and the subsequent ages as shown in the fossil record. Brandon's dino-mite brontosaur is made from marble to a dimension of approximately 2 5/8" long, 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" tall. This plant-eating friend has adorable eyes from turquoise inlays.
