Cameron Kalestewa's heavenly Mountain Lion (puma, leopard, panther or cougar) hunts through eyes from crushed lapis and turquoise. Because mountain lions are stealthy in nature, Zuni men will bring along a mountain lion carving for success in the hunt. For the A:Shiwi (The People) a mountain lion is the Eldest Brother and most important of the Six-Directional animals. Smoothly sculpted from sugar stone marble, measurements are nice at about 7" long, 7/8" wide and 2 3/8" tall. A lovely offering bundle contains an iridescent gold lip shell point, hematite, turquoise, selenite, tourmaline and perhaps crystal quartz beads.
