By respectfully standing with their Grandmothers, Corn-Maidens honor all the years of acquired traditional knowledge elders have to share. They listen and learn with open hearts and minds to their Grandmothers who wear etched shawls. Eyes are incised and darkened with jet paste. The Corn bodies are inlaid with colorful coral, sugilite, shell and lapis pieces. Carved from one portion of golden matrix-rich turquoise, Sandra Quandelacy's approximately 2 1/2" tall, 1 1/2" wide and 1 1/8" deep fetish celebrates the beauty and wisdom of agedness.
