The largest member of the Deer family, majestic moose have a commanding presence as conveyed in Bryston Bowannie's handsome Zuni travertine carving. The word moose originates from Indigenous Algonquian languages. Moos, moz or moosu means eater of twigs or bark stripper. Mighty carved antlers, dewlap and turquoise inlaid eyes are wonderful features of this approximately 2 1/4" long, 1 1/4" wide and 2 3/4" tall browser who loves eating woody twigs, leaves and tree branches.
