There are so many beautiful places that encompass the Zuni reservation. The Nutria area yields rich stones that can be either travertine, agate or jasper. Vince Chavez utilizes minerals from the region to carve wonderful animals. A lively bushytail (Fox, Coyote or Wolf) is sculpted from Nutria stone to a size of roughly 1 5/8" long, 5/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall. It holds the secrets of the Zuni forest. A fox-like gaze is from turquoise inlays.
