Exotic parrots have been part of North American Indigenous cultures for millennia due to the advanced and extensive trade systems. Peter Sohappy's sculpted found stone "Parrot Power" figure is about 7 1/2" long, 3" wide and 1" deep. An iridescent abalone parrot with soft sueded leather accents is perched closely. On the reverse side, a drilled hole is provided to facilitate a wall hanging if desired. The sculpture is equally stunning laying flush. Signed by the artist with "Parrot Power, BW/U" inscriptions.
