For the A:Shiwi (Zuni) frogs are considered an important rain-bringing creature associated with abundance, fertility and cleansing. We're admiring Robert Michael Weahkee's Frog carved from antler and inlaid with bright lapis lazuli resembling splashes and drops of rain. He describes his work as whimsical and fun. He shared that his "favorite medium to carve is Elk/Deer shed antlers, mostly from Zuni. Spring time is when I get to walk around and look for them, but I also buy from community members." About 1 5/8" long, 1 3/4" wide and 7/8" tall.
