For some Pueblo cultures in New Mexico, the red-tailed hawk is known as a red Eagle. For the A:Shiwi (Zuni) a Hawk is considered to be the little brother to eagle. Red-tailed hawks have a unique coat of brownish feathers shaped like a V. They are monogamous, mating for life.
