Pegasus is the illustrious and immortal winged stallion in Greek mythology blending earthly power with divine grace. Under the care of Athena, Pegasus lives in the vast stables of Mount Olympus. Bryston Bowannie's winged Horse honors this enchanted equine of old carved from red onyx to a size of approximately 1 3/4" long, 1/2" wide and 1 7/8" tall. Powerful eyes are from turquoise inlays. Bryston started carving in 1988. The first animals sculpted were horses and elephants. He was influenced by his brother Calvert Bowannie and Ed Lementino.
