Zuni Pueblo tradition says that during the old-days Corn-maidens saved the People from famine and drought by nourishing them with the sacred corn kernels from their bodies. Remembering the beauty of this teaching comes in the form of a carved Zuni cedar Corn Maiden fetish pendant by Reva Halate. Facial features are from inlaid turquoise.
