Zuni Sunface Bushytail
Pansy Natachu's father was noted Zuni Pueblo carver Leonard Halate (d) who started producing fetishes in the 1940's. Her siblings include artists Herbert Halate, Reva Halate and Marvelita Phillips.
Pansy's approximate 2" long, 1/2" wide and 7/8" tall jet-eyed bushytail (Coyote, Fox, or Wolf) is amazingly inlaid with a Zuni Sunface symbol on either side of the Picasso marble. Turquoise, jet and lapis lazuli compose the Sunface that represents the elements in balance. An alternating inlaid necklace is from jet and turquoise.
