The Zuni Sunface is a traditional design symbolizing a balance of the elements as seen on Danette Laate's Olla Maiden carved from one portion of striking Picasso marble. The Sunface is made from coral, jet and turquoise. Her water carrying jar is beautifully designed. Facial features of the Olla Maiden are set with turquoise. More turquoise, jet and red coral accents are inlaid throughout the piece. Little etched blossoms can be seen on her shawl. A lovely corn leaf blade is incised on the reserve side and inlaid with a turquoise accent. About 2 7/8" tall, 1" wide and 7/8" deep.
