Imagine Michael Coble's magnificent alabaster Turtle or tortoise resting on your table or desk. Its serene presence and beautifully detailed carapace is quite engaging. A turned head has expressive eyes from turquoise, and a sweetly etched tail, legs and claws are given. In Zuni Pueblo, turtle shells are prized for making rattles used by the Rain Dancers.
